Having just read about blobby's pc's plight it appears to be the season for it as my pc to as taken a turn for the worse, well not so much a turn for the worse more of a complete death spin but such is life. Now on my quest for a replacement for my dear old trusted and now defunct bag of crap I have looked at 2 sytems full of fancy megs, bytes and gigs meaning very little to me so below are the 2 systems. 1. intel core i5 (266). 6gb ram. 1 tb memory, 2 gb nvidia geforce gts240
2.intel core i5 750 processor. 8192mb ram. 1500gb memory. two ati radeon 4650 1024mb pci express graphics cards 92048 crossfire)
now ram and processors I know a little of, but the graphics stuff sounds a little like the ramblings of napalms drunken sailor lol. So any opinions on wether there is little to choose betweeen the 2 or which is best and why would be gratefully received
wel as far as i know ( which is not a lot ) a quad core is now the best to have , 1 terrer bite is good (dout if you 'll ever fill that up lol) and as for grafix cards ask shrapnel he built mine so he is my guro, good luck babe hope all is well and you'll be up and running very soon , !thumb Image: http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/jj89/Ghostya1985/GMonkeysig.jpg
Hey Monkey learn to speel it's Guru Had it been 2 4670's i would have gone for that one but the nvidia I know little about but Gtx is better than gts
Personally I builkd my own systems t my requirements which is always cost
At the moment the best value graphics on the market in my humble opinion is the Ati XFX radeon 5770 a rock solid card at a little over £130, but at the min it seems to have problems with windows 7 so if your running XP thats the card for you the nearest nvidia gets is the GTX265 at nearly twicw the price
graphics card a good one is ati radeon hd 5770 but i dont recomend if you are usein windows vista or 7
disagree on this card if you goto ati's, acus forums and xfx's forums there's m,ajor problems with this card and about it crashing give this card a miss, from what ive heard it only works properlly with the old pci 1 slot and not the new pci 2.0
Well as for your cpu and ram, thats a lot of cpu and memery power. However if i may suggset the following.
I presume your a gamer of some sorts and therefore need a sys that is more than capable of running any game at this time.
A Intel core i5 Quad is a great cpu, but really tbh and too save yourself money a Intel 2 core duo E8400 running at 3.0 Ghz is more than enough. There is a myth that the more cores the better im gonna get gaming performence....well not really. Most games can only go so far with fps and tbh haveing 120 FPS or 333 FPS your not gonna care cause 120 fps is just more than enough. ( although a E8400 will run 333 fps and more np)
As for your ram 4 Gb will suffice....6 Gb yeah why not but not neccasary.
With the above in mind on Win 7 that sys will run smooth as a babys butt.
Now if you go that way and save a few bucks then go for A GTX card. The Gts performance is good but a GTX will leave you running all games np at all. You will be able to push the game to limits of AA x16, texture filters too full and sync all frames and so on.
A GTX 275 is as far as i can see performance wise and price wise against a 265 or 285 is a really good choice. (So good i have one)
With that sort of set up as above (i have that setup myself) you will have excellent gaming performnce, excellent HD Film Performance and great Win performance all round.
My CPU and 4 Gb ram runs 4 x Sata II HD, Gfx card, Sound card and a 26 " Hd monitor... all smooth and sexy.
