will try updating graphics once i've had tea, hopefully this will solve the problem, i'm running the aformentioned spec laptop with windows 7 home premium 64bit btw. if it does improve the gameplay to the point where i can play it (did 2 rounds thursday night/friday morning) then i'll be able to check the game out properly, as it stands it's just possibly my rig not being good enough. will soon find out.
game is running a hell of a lot better now, couldn't update graphics as they haven't brought out any drivers for the retail version for windows 7 yet but the update for the game itself has resolved a hell of a lot, still got to use minimum settings in my native resolution but i can judge the game better now i can play it.
Ok, here's my personal thoughts about BF:BC2 Beta.. it's not as squad based as it was made out, mass carnage with run and gunners is all i see when i play it. i've now played it for enough time to get a good understanding of wether i'll enjoy it or not upon full release, the sad news is i don't think i will do.. i had such high hopes to be able to get back into it but i just can't. so it looks like it'll be CoD:MW2, BF2 and STO for me. perhaps i'll get it later in the year though when i may have the funds to spare, i was in the air on wether to get STO or BC2, after both experiences STo wins it for me out of the 2.

ive gotta agree its not a squad game(well this game mode isnt) there is a few other game modes aswell so i,ll wait to see then the only squad based game out of the battlefield series is BF2 by far and i still think from what ive seen that BF2 is far better than BC2, but at the end of the day its a beta and i wont cast my full judgement until ive played the final release, at the moment i enjoy MW2 more than BC2 but maybe my mind will be changed lol.
Once a Trekkie always a Trekkie Antaran but I have to agree that this gametype is not being played as a squad based game. Although playing as squads would benefit the gametype hugely.
I for one am quite impressed with the game. (since the update) One concern i have is that there will be no Mod tools for the game so no =EOB= mods !sad , as for worse than MW2 no def not. I feel that once polished by reports from the Beta (and they are listening as the update proves) BFBC2 will piss on Activisions strawberries and make them take another look at dedi servers (don't hold your breath though they prob wont back down now). Anyhow that is my humble opinion on a beta for what i believe will be a great game.
Don't get me wrong i think it will become bigger and that things will change in BC2 after release. Conquest (Domination to those who never played a BF game) is by far a great gametype and i'm suprised they didn't use their most popular mode for beta, the last patch did improve the game as prior to it the game wouldn't run right on my laptop and now it does, i'll be getting BC2 no matter what this year it's just out of the 2 (BC2 and STO) that are released in this time frame i'm more inclined to pay for STO this time round and BC2 another time. by the time i can get BC2 it'll be polished as well anyway.
